Tasting note
Aromatic and expressive, with notes of black cherry, wild blackberry and dried Mediterranean herbs layered over subtle earthy and mineral nuances. The palate is pure and vibrant, combining concentrated old-vine fruit with fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins. Unfined and unfiltered, it shows a textured, authentic character, while its natural élevage preserves precision and energy. Long and savoury on the finish, with lingering notes of dark fruit, spice and crushed stone.
Viticulture
Old, ungrafted vineyards at between 850-940m, planted to Monastrell and traditional local varieties. Vines aged 50-100 years grow in calcareous sands, gravels, sandstone and marl. These dry-farmed, low-yielding sites produce concentrated fruit with freshness, minerality and strong site expression.
Vinification
Spring rains supported healthy canopy growth and even ripening. Warm summer days, reaching 31°C, were balanced by cool nights that preserved freshness. A mild September extended maturation, with harvest in early October. Grapes were hand-picked, cold-macerated with 20% whole clusters, then spontaneously fermented and macerated on skins for 40 days.
