Tasting note
Rich and elegant, with aromas of ripe black cherry, plum and blackberry, layered with violet, liquorice, tobacco and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is structured yet approachable, offering generous dark fruit, silky tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, savoury finish with subtle spice and mineral depth.
Unique Selling Point
Interesting introduction to the tipicity of Sagrantino through one of the oldest wines in the winery.
Viticulture
The grapes are grown in the hills of Montefalco, Umbria, where clay and limestone soils, warm sunny days and cool nights encourage slow, even ripening. Sustainable vineyard practices and careful canopy management produce fruit with excellent concentration, balanced acidity and the structure needed for ageing.
Vinification
The grapes are carefully selected and fermented separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with extended skin maceration to extract colour, aroma and structure. The wine is then blended and matured in oak barrels, allowing the flavours to integrate while developing complexity, smooth tannins and a refined, balanced character.
Food Match
Can be enjoyed by itself or great with red and white meat, charcuterie or aged cheeses.
