Tasting note
Intense Spanish red, delivering a basketful of black cherry and blackcurrant, plus a bouquet of cherry blossom.
Vineyard
Vineyards are planted in well-drained soils under a dry continental climate with high sunlight exposure and strong temperature contrasts between day and night. These conditions promote healthy ripening, good acidity retention, and expressive, aromatic grape profiles.
Viticulture
Winegrowers by family tradition, Bodegas Fernando Castro has 380 hectares of vines planted in the Finca Los Altos, personally tended to by the Castro Family.
Vinification
Harvested from old vines with very deep root systems, the grapes are taken to the winery where they are crushed and fermented in stainless steel at 28C with local yeasts. Following a light pressing, racking and maturation, the wine is bottled and ready for shipment.
Food Match
Light meat dishes, pasta and rice. Its also perfect to enjoy on its own.
