Tasting note
Elegant, fruity and fresh with silky tannins and a balanced and persistent acidity. On the nose it's expressive and elegant, red fruits are predominant with subtle notes of black fruits, floral aromas and a note of oak.
In the press
92/100 - Dark chocolate, dried herbs and black cherries with plenty of fine-grained, chalky tannins. I love the austere aspect, which is more reactive and tense. Nothing floppy here, for sure. Quite long. Drink from 2025.
Viticulture
The terroir consists of diverse small plots influenced by the mountain range. Mainly Tempranillo, the vineyards also have Graciano, Garnacha, white, and unknown varieties. The varied soil and microclimate ensure unique ripening for each plot. Organic viticulture achieves extraordinary vine balance.
Vinification
Elaboration by plots enhances vineyard knowledge. Must is moved by gravity, fermented spontaneously, and vinified in French oak vats and concrete tanks. San Vicente grapes aged nine months in foudres and barrels; Leza wine aged twelve months in barrels. Blended wine aged five months in concrete, with sulphites added, and bottled in spring 2023.
