Armagnac Castarède

Armagnac Castarède, founded in 1832, is France’s oldest Armagnac house and remains family-owned to this day. Established by the Castarède family, it holds one of the most extensive collections of vintage Armagnacs in the world, with stocks dating back to the 19th century. The business is currently led by Florence Castarède, who continues her family’s tradition of crafting fine Armagnacs while preserving their rich heritage.

Castarède’s approach to Armagnac production is defined by traditional methods and extended ageing. Their Armagnacs are distilled in copper stills and aged in local oak barrels, where they develop rich, complex flavours over decades. The VSOP is aged for a minimum of 10 years, while their XO expressions rest for at least 20 years, resulting in exceptionally mellow, full-bodied spirits. The house also offers rare vintage releases, with bottling dates indicated on each label to reflect the true character of the cask.
