Vintage 2005 Bordeaux - A Benchmark
Vintage 2005 Bordeaux is the next benchmark since 1982. 2005 is expressing much of the same balance, structure and finesse, even at a young age. We all know Bordeaux Reds can age and cellar as well or better than most wines in the world. To be drinkable even in this youthfulness is amazing to see though.
Scents of cedar-box, spice, pepper, sweet cinnamon pour out of these wines while the vintage and quality exudes a balance that has not been seen in Bordeaux for years. Most of these wines are getting are high-scores, yet the Euro is holding prices high.
2005 should be collected and aged fore-seeing prices holding and increasing with age. Some of these wines are scoring 95 points and higher!
I would love to hear some thoughts, tasting notes from this vintage, etc. Swirl your glass and let me know!
